Student Information
hollywood Barber College (HBC) offers flexible learning options for both full time and part time students. To obtain a barbering license, 1200 hours of training are required (reduced to 200 for those with a cosmetology license.)
Students have up to 12 months to complete their course those most finish in 7 and 10 months depending on their schedule and attendance. We provide both daytime and evening classes, with operating hours from 8 am to 8 pm Tuesday through Friday and 8 am to 3 pm on Saturdays.
School Tour
School tours are scheduled during office hours. Appointments are not necessary but preferred. Call (520) 887-0532 to schedule a tour.
Enroll
To enroll at HBC you must provide the following documents required by the Arizona State Board of Barbers:
- Birth Certificate – (You must be at least 18 years old)
- Picture ID – State Issue ID OR Drivers License
- Proof of Education – High School Diploma OR GED OR High School Transcripts showing completion of 10th grade. (Copy of cosmetology license if applicable)
- Proof of Citizenship – And/or proof that you can legally work in the United States (Social Security card OR work permit OR passport card.)
- Non-Refundable Down Payment
Completion
For successful completion of the program, students must meet certain criteria (view our school catalog for more details.) All students are responsible for their state board licensing fees.
All financial obligations at Hollywood Barber College must be paid in full prior to the student’s graduation date and before the student will be referred to the Arizona Board of Barbers for Testing.
Tuition
Tuition at HBC is $9800 with a $2000 non-refundable down payment to secure a spot. This down payment covers a barbering kit, textbook, uniform, materials as well as registration and enrollment fees. We offer monthly payment plans for the remainder of your tuition balance. Call or visit the office for more details.
*Tuition is $4500 for those with a cosmetology license.
Financial Assistance
Available based on financial need. Arizona@Work (Pima County One Stop) has partial grants for qualifying students. The time to explore the resources available to you is worth the effort. Contact (520) 724-9649 for more information.
If you’re 16 to 24 years old, contact Tucson Youth Development (520) 623-5843 for tuition assistance.
DES Vocation Rehabilitation
DES Vocational Rehabilitation supports individuals with disabilities. Call (520) 628-6810. To qualify, you must provide medical records.
We also accept funding from the Veterans Administration Vocational Rehabilitation.
